These 7 Spectacular Churches Don't Even Seem Real
As large parts of northern Russia are covered by forest, it is just natural that the people in this region were building, until the 18th century at least, their churches with nothing but wood. The results are nothing but awe inspiring.
The Kizhi Pogost Church was build in 1862 and has a total height of around 37 meter. It can be found on one of the many islands on the lake Onega, located in Karelia.
