With that in mind, the following is a collection of some of the top destinations on earth for retiring.

Florida

Florida is most definitely one of the top destinations to retire for most couples looking to retire in a warm destination. Common for snowbirds who are looking to avoid the cold winters, Florida offers hot weather during the summer and warm conditions for the winter, making it perfect for those seeking comfortable temperatures. Another common reason for retirees to travel to Florida to settle down is due to the active community. Plenty of opportunities to keep busy include golfing, shopping, hiking, beaches and more. Property costs in Florida are affordable, especially for those living on retirement savings which make for an ideal place to bunker down, with plenty of space for the entire family to stay.

Colorado

Retirement in Colorado is among the top in the world as couples flock to quaint and vibrant communities. Most sought-after sites here are Boulder and Colorado Springs, which both offer a unique lifestyle. Hungary

Retirement is an exciting part of life, as the working days are mostly over, most people have a nest egg of money saved and more time to do whatever one wants. Hungary Budapest makes for an ideal place to relocate to in those off years for many reasons. Living costs here, much like Abruzzo, are quite low which allows for a substantial budget. Although prices may be small, the scenery here is incredible, especially in towns such as Balatonfured, Hungary, and Gyor. Countrysides are vast and lush, communities are friendly and engaging, and the populations are booming with the new real estate to visit.

France

France makes for a pleasant spot to wind down for retirement for many reasons. Surprisingly, the cost of living here is not too expensive. Especially for those older in an age that need medical care, the cost of health expenses in France is a fraction of the prices that US pharmaceutical companies charge. Also, the style of life in locations such as Versailles is simple and laid back which makes for a relaxing destination. Food and leisure activities are among the best in the world in such old towns and located just under a half hour travel from the wonders of Paris.

Following France is difficult due to the great sites it has to offer, although the last slide on the list may just be the top spot yet.

Spain

Next up is Spain, consistently ranked from year to year as one of the top ten destinations to retire in the world. Known for arts, culture and beautiful architecture, there is plenty to do and see here including UNESCO heritage sites such as Basilica, Alhambra and much more. A comfortable environment may be found most destinations in Spain, which is perfect for those seeking temperate climate. Cost of living here is affordable and, again, healthcare costs are incredibly low compared to those that will be common in the USA. Favorite spots such as Barcelona and Madrid are great choices, however more unique places offer new and unique living experience with beautiful flora and fauna to explore as well, such as Malaga and Valencia.
