With the cold weather still lingering, those of us in snow-heavy areas are longing for the sun to come out and the flowers to bloom. In warmer areas, the skies are still a bit dark, and the weather has been unpredictable. Florida

Florida offers much to do, depending on what you want to get out of your trip. Orlando has several famous theme parks, and Key West has its pies, but there are two up-and-coming areas worth a look. Miami has been a go-to destination in recent years, and if you seek a destination with sand and a trendy scene, head to South Beach. Spend a day on a white sand beach or people watching at Lummus Park, and then hit the hot nightclubs on Ocean Drive at night. If you cannot get enough of art museums, head to Winter Park, near Orlando, which has over five in the immediate area. Chow down at one of the many area restaurants, serving everything from vegan fare to barbecue grub after taking in the museum's works.
