Muir Woods is an incredible experience for any travelers looking to see the true size and power of Mother Nature. Otherwise known as Red Woods, this giant forest located just outside of San Francisco is home to Sequoia Sempervirens, the highest growing trees in the world. Among them is Hyperion the world’s largest recorded tree which stands tall at three-hundred and seventy-nine feet and seven inches. Tourists flock to Muir Woods every year for the opportunity to learn some amazing facts about the park, see the wildlife and feel like tiny ants. Trees here are hundreds of years old and a national treasure.

The Muir Woods are a fantastic place to explore the wonders and power of mother nature's forests. Coming up next is another facinating destination located in the Grand Canyon.
